Choosing The Best Theme Party

Confused about the theme while you are into organizing a theme party? There are hundreds of themes to choose from. All you need is internet and you have the ideas ready, right in front of you! Or you may also choose to visit your favorite costume shop to find out more! You have various options to select from. You can select themes ranging from renaissance period, angels and demons, the ancient times, current events to politics. Each theme can only be selected a certain occasion. So it makes you to think as to what theme will fit what time and season as well as the occasion.

Know first when and where to party will be held. You can’t hold a Hawaiian theme costume party in the middle of the winter season, nor a Halloween themed one in April! Also inspect the site where the event will be held, check if it can accommodate all the decorations for your chosen theme, and if the theme costumes they’ll be wearing won’t make them too uncomfortable! If the location is a bit cool, then don’t choose a theme where the women’s costumes would be probably light or won’t be covering much skin, or for the men’s costumes where they might not wear anything on top.

Deciding upon the age group of the guests is important as the theme should match the age group attending the party. If the majority of guests attending the party are children than animals’, superheroes’, cartoon characters’ etc themes should be chosen. And if the majority of the guests are going to be adults or teens, themes such as imitating celebrities, their favorite or least favorite professors, priests, prostitutes, pirates etc would be fine. Or something which might give them a chance to show off their personality or which is reveling can be selected

For the invitations, it should be sent to the guests around 4-5 weeks before the event, just so they can prepare for it and go look around for costumes. 4-5 weeks should be enough; longer than that, they might have misplaced their invitations and remember it only a few days before the party. The sending out of invitation shouldn’t be too near the date of the party, or the guests might show up unprepared and the men’s costumes might end up only as their favorite shirt and pants.

In order to make it easier for the guests so as to select the right costume, you can also mention some of the costumes that the guests are expected to wear at the party, just as example. Keep a variety of options so as to lessen the chance of some guest wearing the wrong costume. And if you somehow know a costume shop owner, who can provide the costumes at discounted rates, then you can also mention the address of the same so that the guests do not really have to hop from store to store to find the right costume!

It is for sure that you will be expecting everyone in a costume matching with the theme of the party. So you can mention the same on the invitation card. You can also write a word of caution that whosoever will be a defaulter, will have to undergo a punishment. The punishment can also be as per the theme. For instance, if the theme is school or university, then whosoever will violate the rule will be made to write “I will never come to a costume party without any costume” or some similar stuff. If the theme is underwater, then you can soak him in water in the party.

Despite of the theme selected, try to make it fulfilled, inexpensive and memorable. Make the guests feel important by telling them that it does not matter if they were not able to get the desired costume, all that matters is their presence and is appreciated. After all, all memories will fade away leaving only the memories of the time you all spent together!
