Gold Delivery: Beware of Scammers

I’m sure most of you are aware of the risks involved when receiving trade in games such as World of Warcraft. Any warnings or actions from Blizzard are extremely isolated as our highly experienced suppliers are well aware of all the risks involved and will take the necessary precautions required to avoid any flagging. It will also be in their best interest to complete the transaction successfully and safely.

However, we are also aware of another threat faced by our customers when receiving currency in-game. There are currently many individuals out there who will take advantage of our customers and cheat them out of their purchases. We would like to take this opportunity to warn all customers in order to spread awareness of this growing problem. Please be aware that this is already noted on our site prior to ordering online currency for World of Warcraft.

Our OffGamers registered sellers will never ask a customer to return goods once they have been traded.

If a person were to contact your character in-game and inform that the goods traded were for another customer, or any other reason:

DO NOT RETURN THE GOODS no matter what the reason was.
- Set him/her to your ignore list.
- take a screenshot of the conversation and send the details over to our customer support.

Now that we’ve warned you about the dangers of online trading as well as the recommended trading methods, we would also wish to point out the tactics used by in-game scammers that may approach you pretending to be our registered supplier.

1) Scanning for Fellow Players

In-game scammers will usually scan for fellow players which may fall under the supplier category. They can gain an insight into any recently high amounts of currency currently acquired by the character by selecting ‘compare achievements’. Scammers will normally check when 2 characters are ‘targeting’ and interacting with each other prior to one of them logging off, a strong indication that a trade took place. They will then have a secondary computer to create a new character with an almost identical character name as the one they assume was the genuine supplier.

2) Selecting the Correct Player to Scam

Once ‘compare achievements’ is selected, the scammer will be able to check any recently acquired gold and other statistics in the summary. Large amounts of gold may indicate that the character is on the way to make a delivery of a large sum of in-game currency. The scammer will then approach the recipient player’s character assuming the role of the supplier (once delivery has been made and the supplier logs off of course) and state that due to a problem with the delivered currency, the player should surrender it etc.

We will never ask for delivered goods to be returned

Always verify with our customer support if you were approached to return a trade by a person or persons claiming to be affiliated with OffGamers, they could be looking to scam you out of your purchases.
